The Los Fresnos Housing Authority shares the mission of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD): To create strong, sustainable, inclusive communities and quality affordable homes for all. Also, work to strengthen the housing market, to bolster the economy and protect consumers, meet the need for quality affordable rental homes, utilize housing as a platform for improving quality of life, and build inclusive and sustainable communities free form discrimination.

LFHA provides rent-subsidized, government-owned units through the Public Housing Program for low-income individuals and families who meet eligibility requirements.

LFHA provides Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Program to assist low-income individuals and families, in securing affordable housing in the private market. A subsidy is paid directly to landlords, while participants pay the remaining portion of the rent.

The Los Fresnos Housing Authority (LFHA) is pleased to offer vendors the opportunity to register through our electronic vendor registration system. This system streamlines the procurement process, reduces paperwork, and is available at no cost to vendors.

The Los Fresnos Housing Authority administers two programs: the Public Housing Program and the Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8).

Applications are given out Monday through Thursday between 8:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. Please note that availability depends on whether the program is open or closed at the time.

Eligibility for housing programs is based on household income, family composition, citizenship status, and background history. Applicants must meet HUD income limits, have at least one U. S. citizen or eligible immigrants in the household, and maintain a good rental record.
